Making the decision to sell your house is a big undertaking that requires much time and planning. Reasons to sell your property in Spring

Many real estate agents will tell you that Spring is a fantastic time to sell your property and that it’s actually one of the busiest times of the year for the market. As the weather warms and the flowers bloom, gardens and lawns burst into life and show off properties to their best advantage. At the same time, both buyers and sellers start to emerge and take advantage of the longer daylight hours.

Of course, the more foot traffic you get at your property showings and the more buyers you have registered, the more offers you’re likely to get. And there’s nothing better than multiple offers and a bidding war when you finally go to sell. However…

Spring isn’t always the best time to sell your property

It’s true that there are more buyers on the market in the Spring months; however, there are also significantly more sellers. The oversupply of houses means that buyers tend to be spoilt for choice, and you’re fighting with dozens of other listings for attention.

For this reason, many realtors will recommend listing your property in Autumn or Winter when it will be one of the few on the market. It could also be said that although fewer people turn up to Winter property showings, those that do make the effort are more committed to buying a property (as opposed to window shoppers).
